Talent Acquisition Consultant: We have provided a detailed training plan. Some of the areas we would like to focus on during the fellowship are as follows (depending on the length of the fellowship) 

 

  • Gain knowledge of how state government functions, the role of the Virginia Department of Taxation, and the offices and departments within the agency and how they function.
  • Immersion and familiarization with Full Life Cycle Recruiting
  • Understanding and supporting Talent Acquisitions role in the ageny’s New Employee Orientation
  • Gaining knowledge and understanding of HR documentation, reports, records and processes
  • Writing effective job postings and how to post positions through the state government client management system.
  • Resume review and screening candidates.
  • Training and familiarization on documentation such as offer letters, pay action worksheets, 
  • Attends pre posting meetings between HR and hiring managers to understand that process, relationship and dynamic.
  • Preposting tasks and preposting meetings
  • Sourcing, pipeline and recruiting methods, tools and best practices.
  • Familiarization with salary comparison and market comparison
  • Additional familiarization with systems, software and platforms such as SmartSheets, PageUp, LinkedIn, Handshake, and others
  • Gain experience and understanding with benefits and compensation and classification.
  • Gain experience and greater understanding of Cardinal.
