On Thursday June 22 in Alexandria, VA Northern Virginia Regional Manager Rick Ferry presented the V3 Certification Award to Cotton & Company an accounting firm who conducts audits with the federal government. In front of a crowd of 180 employees during their annual company “All Hands” meeting, Mr. Ferry presented Company CEO Matt Johnson with their first award.

Even with highly competitive salaries and benefits it is difficult for Cotton & Company to attract veterans. Employees need a minimum of 20 college credits in Accounting and they prefer an Accounting Degree. Cotton & Company is projected to grow by 15% in their head count next year and they would welcome everyone of those individuals to be veterans. The veterans that they have on staff currently are some of their top performers. They are professional, detail oriented and bring a great sense of maturity and keen insight to their clients’ needs to the table. “What can we do to hire more?” If you (or someone you know) is a veteran with an Accounting Degree or Business Degree with significant coursework in accounting, please contact your VTAP Manager today.
