Women Veteran and Military Spouse Career Advancement Grant

Are you a woman veteran or an Active-Duty Military Spouse ready to take the next step in your career? Whether you’re looking to upskill, re-skill, or bounce back from a federal layoff, this opportunity is designed with you in mind. Up to $1,000 reimbursement grant to invest in your professional growth, whether that means training, certification, or education that boosts your employability and helps you stand out in today’s competitive job market.

 

Eligibility:

  • Impacted by Federal Layoff 2/1/25-present
  • Honorably discharged Women Veteran or
  • Active-Duty Military Spouse
  • Resides and works in Virginia
  • Currently seeking employment

 

Required Eligibility for Military Spouses: (Provide at least one)

 

Required Eligibility for Women Veterans:

  • DD Form 214 (Member-4 preferred)

 

Funding Reimbursement Opportunities:

  • Obtaining higher education via an industry-standard accreditation
  • On-The-Job (OJT) and/or Apprenticeship training via a G.I. Bill-approved program
  • Registered Apprenticeship training via a U.S. Department of Labor or State Approving Agency-approved program
  • Professional certifications via an industry-recognized program
  • Certification exams and/or practical fees are needed to obtain the issuance of any license, permit, certificate, or other document required for the practice of any profession or occupation in the Commonwealth
  • Business start-up fees, certifications or licenses

Women Veteran Career Transition Grant

Women veterans who currently reside in the Commonwealth of Virginia, who have honorably discharged within 6–12 months of military transition, can receive $1,000 by completing the Virginia Military Transition and Career Planning journey. This grant supports career exploration, planning, and readiness—designed to launch your next chapter with confidence. Your Experience Matters – Let’s Put It to Work

 

Eligibility:

  • Honorably discharged Woman Veteran
  • Currently resides in the Commonwealth of Virginia

 

Required Documents for Women Veterans: 

  • DD Form 214 (Member-4 preferred)
  • Signed Commonwealth W9
  • Proof of Residency
