Park Ranger: In this role, you will join a winning team and assist the Chief Ranger Law Enforcement, park managers, and other staff in the overall management and safe operation of the park. Duties include, but are not limited to, maintenance and cleaning of facilities, grounds, and operation of all related tools and equipment, supervising and training seasonal and wage staff, volunteers, and other work program participants in the maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment. The incumbent will also assist with natural resource and trail management which includes, but is not limited to, forest, wildlife, and pest management, maintaining park boundaries and signage, maintaining forest roads/trails, and completing quarterly written trail inspections as well as other forms of written documentation.
Sworn Law Enforcement Professionals: The program will help transition Military Service Members into the Virginia Beach Police Department through two paths. The first path will be directly into the Police Academy is service member successfully completes the hiring process prior to entering the program. The second path will consist of an internship with the Virginia Beach Police Department, allowing the service member to complete the application and hiring process to attend the police academy.

Gaining knowledge and understanding of HR documentation, reports, records and processes
Writing effective job postings and how to post positions through the state government client management system.
Resume review and screening candidates.
Training and familiarization on documentation such as offer letters, pay action worksheets,
Attends pre posting meetings between HR and hiring managers to understand that process, relationship and dynamic.
Preposting tasks and preposting meetings
Sourcing, pipeline and recruiting methods, tools and best practices.
Familiarization with salary comparison and market comparison
Additional familiarization with systems, software and platforms such as SmartSheets, PageUp, LinkedIn, Handshake, and others
Gain experience and understanding with benefits and compensation and classification.
Gain experience and greater understanding of Cardinal.
